Oxted Runners Anti Bullying Statement
Simple Statement
At Oxted Runners we are dedicated to creating a positive, inclusive and supportive environment for all our members. Bullying in any form goes against the values we hold dear and will not be tolerated. We operate a zero tolerance culture to all forms of bullying.
Bullying can be defined as repeated behaviour which is intended to hurt someone either emotionally or physically and is often aimed at certain people because of their race, religion, gender or sexual orientation, or any other aspect such as appearance or disability.
What is bullying?
– Physical bullying: Hitting, slapping, pushing or any form of physical aggression. This includes inappropriate touching, bodily contact and inappropriate sexual behaviours.
– Verbal Bullying: Insults, derogatory comments or mocking.
– Social bullying: Exclusion, spreading rumours, encouraging others to bully.
– Cyber Bullying: Harassment via digital platforms including social media, messaging apps
and emails.
Our anti-bullying statement relates to both online and face to face bullying. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable. Bullying takes many forms but ultimately it is the perception of the victim that determines whether or not they are being bullied rather than the intention of the bully. We expect that all members and the Committee will work together to prevent and reduce bullying. Our policy sits alongside our other Club documents including the Code of
Conduct, Club Constitution and Grievance Policies and other policies all of which can be viewed on this site .
If you feel you are being bullied or suspect another member is being bullied, please
contact the Lead Welfare Officer.
